Sometimes it feels like my RAM is overloaded and my ROM is of no use. Other times, it feels like my memory backup needs a backup. I kid you not.
I have times a thought pops into my head and I go to get it down in some way only to have it disappear. Then it comes up again and disappears again. Suddenly, I feel ready to capture it and it has changed, morphed into something else - a variation of itself, then that new unexpected version disappears. It's frustrating.
Your opening examples have happened to me multiple times to the point of feeling like I'm living in a revolving door.
I haven't done of the worksheets yet for a few reasons: I don't have access to a printer, I don't feel like I've learned enough about my ADHD situation, and I just don't feel ready. Eventually, I shall do them because I need to. My situation needs to get better and medication alone isn't the answer.
Thanks for sharing Bill. We're rooting for you! When you're ready to do the worksheets, you could try grabbing some scrap paper and just write the answers. Sometimes it helps just to think about these scenarios and put something down on paper.
My Alexa system helps tremendously… I’m constantly walking around my house saying aloud “Alexa, remind me in 2 minutes to …” or “Alexa, add XYZ to my to-do list” . It’s also paired with my iwatch, so I hit one button and I’m able to speak into it when I’m away from home. It’s been a game changer.
My problem isthat by the time I have an app/tab open to note/search it, I've forgotten it. Besides ADHD, I deal with other health issues that cause memory issues and brain fog, including perimenopause and migraines. Plus there's the Topamax (aka Dopamax) for the migraines. At least it's usually nothing that'll change my life in any meaningful way. I do my best with what I've got.
The moment I always lose information: when someone tells me something
What I lose because of it: things i needed to do
This week, I’ll capture thoughts using: my phone
I’ll review what I’ve captured: while eating breakfast
When I forget to capture something, I’ll: try again
good luck :)
The problem for me right now is I have multiple situations where I lose thoughts consistently or regularly enough to seem consistent.

I'm new to you and I'm just going to copy/paste the worksheets into a doc file with my answers rather than print them so I always have them with me.
That's a great idea Sadie. I might do that when I get my new phone.
Thank you very much. I just might do that when I'm ready.
I'm always forgetting important tasks and feel a lot of shame. I'll start noting things down (when I remember to)
