This is so brilliant and I wish I knew some of these ideas a few years ago. Now I’m reading it and think about how to apply the suggestions to parenting a young adult. Please share more about parenting older children!
really like this newsletter.. here’s my challenge to you: Please share some thoughts on mid-60’s sisters trying to get along under the same roof temporarily one is neurodiverse always has been of course, other sister neurotypical.. menopause has robbed all coping strategies that used to work for the ND, while the NT sibling just wants her life back
I’m a 74 year old parent of 4 adult children, ADHD married to ASD. Three children neurodivergent, one neurotypical, poor guy! He has a lot to cope with! 😂 Of course, most of us didn’t realise neurodivergence was even a thing until relatively recently. Your suggestions make so much sense, and I wish, of course, that I’d known all this decades ago. I’m going to send this to two Mum’s of ADHD children who I hope will find this useful. But also, what maybe you haven’t realised, is that these tips are helpful for late-diagnosed people as well. Some made me think how I might use or adapt them for myself. Others helped me to see how I might help my husband to do things, rather than struggling to avoid nagging him until I erupt! Thank you so much. I’ve learned more from you in one post than I have in three hours with an ADHD life coach!
